GILBERT, Ariz. (AP) - Queen Creek's popular Schnepf Farms has become a magnet for thieves in Battery jump start recent months, causing the owner to put up a banner appealing to the conscience and offering Car vacuum cleaner a $5,000 reward.
Theft is nothing new to the farm, but owner Carrie Schnepf says the value of the items stolen Heavy duty compressors has increased by a considerable amount.
In the past few months, she says thieves have made off with 10 heat lamps, generators, an air compressor, sound equipment, all-terrain vehicles, bicycles, banquet tables and pedal cars.
The value: about $20,000.
Schnepf says it would cost too much money to install cameras and fences across the entire 300-acre farm, and that there is too much equipment to lock it all up.
So she put up a sign telling the thieves to have a merry Christmas and asking them to do the right thing.
